Mexico City, December 15, 2020. - Viva Aerobus, Mexico's ultra-low-cost carrier, received the Tourist Safety Stamp granted by the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico City´s Government for diligently complying with official guidelines and international standards on prevention and hygiene, thus taking care of the health and well-being of passengers and staff.

“We recognize the work that Viva Aerobus has done to provide a safe and reliable air transportation service. Besides providing peace of mind to passengers, it contributes to a responsible reactivation of the air sector in the country”, stressed Carlos Mackinlay, Mexico City´s Secretary of Tourism. He added that, at this time, the best tourism promotion is that establishments and service companies guarantee the safety of visitors and tourists; he mentioned that the priority is that companies are 100% prepared to comply with protocols and measures that take care of all of us.

This certification is the result of the successful implementation of the Viva Contigo (Viva with You) program, based on the guidelines issued by the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health and the Mexican Federal Civil Aviation Agency in order to guarantee optimal conditions of hygiene, cleanliness and prevention in the airline's operations.

Consequently, Viva Aerobus established additional disinfection processes in aircrafts and common areas, training for its staff on preventive and sanitary protocols, mandatory use of face masks, disposition of sanitizing elements such as antibacterial gel and disinfectant towels, symptom detection tests to the staff, reduction of interaction at contact points such as counters and boarding rooms, an alliance with Cloralex, among many other actions.
