Viva Aerobus expands service for high season by the end of the year: reincorporates 7 winter routes

Mexico City, November 29, 2019.- Given the increase in the demand for flights during high season by the end of the year, Viva Aerobus, Mexico´s ultra-low-cost carrier, reincorporates to its offer 7 winter routes that will operate between December 2019 and January 2020: Cancun – Newark, Cancun - San Jose de Costa Rica, Guadalajara - Houston, La Paz - Mazatlan, Monterrey - Huatulco, Monterrey - Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and Monterrey - Los Angeles.

“We know the needs of our passengers in this holiday season. Therefore, we are committed to provide more flight options at affordable prices that connect iconic destinations,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus.

Tickets for these seasonal routes are already on sale. Thus, passengers may purchase their tickets in advance and get the best prices. All flights will be operated with the latest generation Airbus A320 aircraft, being the youngest fleet in Mexico with an average age of 3.8 years.

Guadalajara - Houston will operate from December 12 to January 4 with a daily flight except Wednesdays. Cancun - San Jose de Costa Rica will begin on December 13 and will be available until January 24 with 2 flights per week (Tuesday and Friday. Besides, Cancun - Newark will begin on December 14 with a weekly flight until January 5.

From December 14 to January 4, with 2 flights per week, the following routes will be offered: Monterrey – Huatulco (Wednesdays and Saturdays); Monterrey - Ixtapa Zihuatanejo (Wednesdays and Saturdays) and La Paz - Mazatlan (Tuesdays and Saturdays). Moreover, Monterey - Los Angeles will have service from December 16 to January 3 with 2 weekly flights (Monday and Thursday).

Therefore, more and more passengers consider us as their first flight option because we allow them to travel strategically: saving,” explained Juan Carlos Zuazua.

Related to the abovementioned, these seasonal routes are supported by the increasing preference of passengers to / from the destinations they connect. Between January and October 2019, compared to the previous year, Viva registered a 12% increase in the number of clients from / to Cancun; 7% in Guadalajara; 6% in Huatulco; 12% in La Paz; 12% in Mazatlan; and 17% in Monterrey.
