Flight restrictions

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, air operations are constantly changing. We recommend staying informed about current flight restrictions before planning any trip and booking your flight.

Domestic flights

All passengers traveling in Mexico must use the México Vuela Seguro platform and fill out the health questionnaire. This document will be requested in digital or printed format on the day of your flight at airport security.

Take into account the following:

  • Each passenger must fill out a form
  • A questionnaire must be filled out for each flight
  • We recommend filling it out 24 hours prior to your flight

International Flights

Flights to the United States

Information for passengers flying to the United States:

US authorities have announced that as of November 8, 2021, passengers traveling to the US are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Flights to Cuba

Last Update: October 22, 2021

As of next November 7, passengers traveling to Cuba are not subject to mandatory quarantine or required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, as long as the following requirements are met:

  • Present official COVID-19 vaccination certificate (fully vaccinated).
  • Present the Sanitary Statement for Travellers. Download it here.

Passengers who do not have a vaccination certificate must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. The test must be taken no more than 72 hours before arrival in Cuba.

Regardless of their nationality, passengers under 12 years old are not required to present a vaccine certificate or PCR test upon arrival in Cuba. However, epidemiological surveillance and the mandatory use of face masks will be required at airports and in the rest of the country.

Flights to Canada

Per government policy, entry to Canada is permitted only for passengers who meet the following requirements:

  • Be fully vaccinated by of any of the vaccines approved by the Government of Canada:
    • Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty (tozinameran, BNT162b2)
    • Moderna Spikevax (mRNA-1273)
    • AstraZeneca Vaxzevria/COVISHIELD (ChAdOx1-S, AZD1222)
    • Janssen/Johnson & Johnson (Ad26.COV2.S)
  • Have received the last dose of vaccine at least 14 days before entering Canada.
  • Upload your proof of vaccination to ArriveCAN.
  • Show no signs or symptoms of COVID.

If your proof of vaccination is not in English or French, you must present a certified translation in either English or French, in addition to the original certificate.

Additionally, all passengers over the age of 5 must submit a negative COVID-19 PCR test or a COVID-19 recovery molecular test taken no more than 72 hours prior to flight departure to Canada.

Minors between 12 and 17 years old, who are not vaccinated, will be subject to a 14-day quarantine upon arrival, regardless of whether the passengers accompanying them are fully vaccinated.

All passengers will be subject to random testing and must have a quarantine plan in place if they test positive or show symptoms.

Important: All expenses incurred due to these health measures are at your own expense and as a traveler, you must show that you have a “quarantine plan”.

Vuelos hacia Colombia

In accordance with the measures established by the Colombian Ministry of Health, all passengers must:

  • Wear a surgical mask throughout their flight and bring extra masks for flights longer than 2 hours. N95 masks are recommended for people over 60 years of age or vulnerable populations.
  • Complete the entire immigration pre-check-in form from the Check-Mig App at least 24 hours before going through immigration (to enter or exit Colombia).

In addition to COVID-19 prevention measures, it is recommended to get the yellow fever vaccine 15 days prior to your trip in case of visiting at-risk areas.
